Chello Multicanal, the largest independent provider of thematic channels in Spain and Portugal, has expanded its Spanish installation by launching HD services while fully automating its internal processes. As part of this major expansion, Chello Multicanal has updated its systems with Tarsys MAM and Ficus Business Process Manager (BPM) from Tedial to enable its two headquarters in Madrid (production) and Barcelona (transmission) to be connected, thus completely integrating their workflows.
Production of all Chello Multicanal HD programming is taking place at the Madrid facility using Final Cut Pro, a new addition to Avid's Barcelona suites. Once edited, the material is sent to the headquarters in Barcelona for quality control, transmission and archiving under the complete control of Tedial's systems. This is the second phase of what began as a huge digitalization project for Chello Multicanal in 2007, when the Tedial systems were initially installed.
