Ooyala expands its OTT services with the purchase of Nativ
Nativ will help increase interoperability of all components of the Ooyala platform.

Ooyala will maintain Nativ as an independent line of business under its main brand. Over time, Nativ technologies will be integrated with the Ooyala platform.
Charlotte Yarkoni, president of the Telstra group, parent company of Ooyala after its purchase last year, recognizes that adding Nativ's technology to Ooyala is a great step forward to consolidate leadership in personalized television supported by the cloud.
"This exciting acquisition, our second purchase in nine months, comes at a crucial time for Ooyala and for the industry. With Nativ's MioEverywhere platform we can deliver a highly scalable and complete solution that helps our customers, smarter and more efficiently, manage their content business every step of the way, from creation to monetization. Our platform will be flexible enough to connect to both existing legacy systems and third-party solutions," he commented.
Yarkoni adds that “Nativ will help us increase the interoperability of all platform components and create a framework that makes it easier to build, maintain and grow your business with Ooyala.”
Luxury car manufacturers like Audi have used Nativ's technology to determine how different ways of presenting content (with or without subtitles, for example) affect different brand actions.
Broadcasters such as ITV also use Nativ Mio's multi-screen advertising platform to manage content releases and syndication, and determine who tunes in on which platform.
With the addition of 30 Nativ employees, Ooyala will now have 550 employees worldwide, with a strong presence in particular in the EMEA region, given Videoplaza's European roots (now in the hands of Ooyala) and Nativ's UK footprint.
