Sony HDC-2500: an outdoor-proof graphite body camcorder
The HDC-2500 is the world's first camera made with a graphite body, making it much stronger than plastic and even magnesium. Combined with Sony's SR-R1000 storage deck, it's a camera designed for recording sports and other entertainment where the action moves quickly.
As Panorama Audiovisual already announced on September 9, Sony In a few months it will have a new camcorder whose main characteristic is its resistance in day-to-day live operations outdoors. The HDC-2500 is the world's first camera made with a graphite body, making it much stronger than plastic and even magnesium. This achievement not only benefits the environment, given the sustainability of graphite, but also the operator, especially when recording outdoors.
The camera uses an advanced HD signal processing system with 16-bit A/D converters. It also incorporates a new CCD sensor design and newly developed DSP technology that offer extraordinary levels of sensitivity.
The 2500 will be compatible with all peripherals in the current HDC-1500 series, including the HDLA studio lens adapter and T-adapter for live 3D productions.
It also comes equipped with a 3G fiber optic transmission system as standard, which speeds up data transmission. It is a perfect camera for three-dimensional productions and offers 1080/50p output capability to provide optimal image quality. These improvements, along with the new Network Trunk network interface, make it a future-proof camera.
Another advantage of 3G fiber transmission is 1080/100i output, which is also included as standard on the HDC-2500 model. Combined with Sony's SR-R1000 storage deck, used in iconic live production environments such as Wimbledon, the Champions League final and the Audi Cup in Germany, the HDC-2500 is a camera designed for recording sports and other spectacles where the action unfolds quickly. Images can be slowed down considerably without compromising image quality with the 2Xspeed function.
On the other hand, it should be noted that this camcorder has 12-bit (4:4:4) transmission capacity with a range of up to 4 km, which simplifies long-distance image capture.
The camera offers the ability to record in 3D format and, if necessary, be used in a triaxial environment using the HDTX-100 adapter.
