Alyoum TV, a new Kuwaiti channel with VSN technology

The new Kuwaiti news channel, Alyoum TV, has selected the VSN company for the complete deployment of a 100% tapeless system, which includes solutions for news production, broadcast automation, graphics, legal copy and content ingestion and management.

The new Kuwaiti channel Alyoum TV has selected the technology VSN for the deployment of a complete 100% tapeless broadcast system. With an initial staff of one hundred people, the channel has specialized in the production of news, mainly broadcasting local news and general information about Kuwait.

Alyoum TV produces four daily news programs, among other debate and talk shows.

The installation includes a VSNNews news production system with fifteen newsroom stations, three non-linear editing (NLE) booths and a VSNPrompter teleprompter. Alyoum TV staff use the journalistic facility in two shifts a day. Content ingest is carried out with the VSNautorec solution, which includes a powerful ingest scheduler for both frequent and specific captures. The issuance and automation of the continuity is managed by the VSNMatic multi-format playout and server, which has been integrated with the VSNCG titling system. A VSNLegalrec legal copy system is added to the installation. The channel, which has opted for a powerful brand image, makes use of advanced graphics thanks to the VSNCG+ solution, which in its latest version 5.0 offers a much more powerful user interface, with search filters, unlimited possibility of undoing changes, and distribution of floating windows. The channel manages its content with the multiplatform tool VSNSHAER, included in VSN's new Spider architecture.

Alyoum TV, which plans to continue growing, could acquire a complete VSNArchive archive system in a second phase of the installation. The channel already has a news set, another for sports and a third for its debate programs.
