Shure A300SM: ShureLock cushioned mount with suspension elastics
Compatible with the KSM353 compatible mic, Shure's new shock-mount with suspension elastics provides exceptional isolation.
Shure has introduced an innovative stand for its KSM353 ribbon microphone that uses advanced materials and design to offer a new level of isolation.
After more than 18 months of development, Shure now has the new A300SM, providing a perfect balance and flexibility. Since for a ribbon microphone, the movement of the mount must be perpendicular to the movement of the ribbon, the mounting design is complicated.
The first step was to redesign the bottom microphone connector allowing for secure connectivity, regardless of the orientation or movement of the stand.
A particular challenge was choosing a material that would actually provide adequate insulation. Instead of the traditional elastic bands or rubber O-rings on most of these types of mounts, the A300SM uses a curious metal braided wire system. After extensive testing, Shure finally found a cable material that offered unique flex, finish and durability characteristics.
The new A300SM mount meets all Shure quality standards, including drop resistance and a finish that is proof against exposure to moisture and corrosive environments.
