Harris' Nexio Studio Suite will streamline the control of file-based workflows
Nexio Studio Suite will allow its users to control multiple server channels over IP, streamlining the flow of files between servers and editing platforms by offering “video tape” emulation for an easy transition into tapeless studio operations.
Harris Corporation has just introduced Nexio Studio Suite to the market with the aim of helping users carry out a simpler and more convenient migration to tapeless production environments with greater efficiency in file-based workflows.
Nexio Studio Suite is designed for multi-camera studio production on magazine, entertainment or reality shows. Among its advantages, it provides control of production video servers, offering functionality typical of any VTR, although in this case with the benefits of a non-linear and multichannel operational environment typical of a server.
The software simplifies the operation and control of multiple servers over IP networks, including multi-channel recording and media playback from Nexio servers.
Harris Harris, president of Harris Broadcast Communications, highlighted that "broadcasters and production companies are moving further away from costly VTR maintenance by migrating to a file-based studio production environment without the use of tape. Harris Nexio Studio Suite will offer our customers the best of both worlds for live studio production: a very familiar interface for the user, an efficient cost and a rational tapeless studio production experience."
Nexio Studio Suite customers will also benefit from the shared storage architecture of Nexio servers, giving Harris Velocity ESX or Apple's Final Cut Pro editors instant access to material. This is ideal for specific tasks commonly associated with fast, agile live multi-camera recording and playback.
Nexio Studio Suite is based on ClipJockey, a software application developed by the German company S2M Solutions For Media. Both companies have worked to develop a single and simple user interface that allows control of all workflows linked to an installation with Nexio servers, while helping to accelerate the production process.
