Sole 4 of Litepanels: Fresnel LED light, controllable by DMX
The new Sola 6 is now on sale, which with the typical Fresnel lens and LED technology offers daylight at 5,600ºK dimmable from zero to one hundred and weighing just 0.6 Kg.
Litepanels, a Vitec group company, has announced the sale of the new Sola Fresnel LED, a Fresnel-type luminaire with LED technology and controllable by DMX.
It has a 100mm lens and uses a small fraction of the energy consumed by conventional equipment. It uses proprietary Litepanels LEDs to produce soft, high-quality daylight at 5600°K.
Sola 4 is based on the same Fresnel technology applied in the Litepanels Sola 6, although in this case its size and weight have been considerably reduced. It provides the beam control capability typical of Fresnel lenses, being able to work between 70 and 10 degrees. Like all Litepanels, Sola 4 can be dimmed from zero to 100 without any noticeable change in color temperature. Both the focus and the regulation can be controlled manually on the device itself or through a DMX remote control.
A single set of 4 weighs around 0.6kg and measures just 230mm x 205mm x 180mm. Its small size and weight allow this equipment to be used in both studio and field applications. Since it is LED, it produces very little heat, which also reduces air conditioning costs while making it easier to handle.
The compact Sola 4 consumes just 30W of power but still provides a Fresnel HMI output of 125W. This versatile light can be powered by AC (120-240V) or DC (via XLR). Optional accessories for Sola 4 are four trimming blades and an extensive set of filters.
