The new French government could give a boost to DAB+

With the arrival of Ayrault as French Prime Minister, the radio landscape could take a 180-degree turn due to his clear commitment to DAB+.

Following the appointment of Jean-Marc Ayrault as Prime Minister by the new French president Francois Hollande, the radio landscape in France could change significantly.

Ayrault was the deputy mayor of Nantes, a city where important digital radio tests were carried out.

Ayrault himself was very directly involved in these tests, even advocating the implementation of DAB+ instead of the initially chosen standard, T-DMB.

The large French stations Europe 1, NRJ, RTL RMC had been putting obstacles in the way of the definitive push for digital radio in the country for months. Now, with the arrival of Ayrault, the panorama could take a 180 degree turn.
