Julien Bergeaud will lead the launch of the new channel dedicated to French football

Bergeaud, until now responsible for the Discovery/Eurosport group in France, has extensive experience in the creation and management of sports thematic channels.

Julien Bergeaud, as new director of Mediapro Francsa, will be in charge of leading the launch of the new channel dedicated to French football starting with the 2020-2021 season. Bergeaud, until now responsible for the Discovery/Eurosport group in France, has extensive experience in the creation and management of sports thematic channels, as well as in the management of sports rights.

For Bergeaud, “the project of creating the French football channel is fantastic and I am very happy to join Mediapro to face this challenge, creating a channel that is the most attractive and accessible to the greatest number of people.”

The thematic channel that Mediapro will launch starting in the summer of 2020 will offer uninterrupted programming on Ligue 1 and the second division, with 9 matches per day of the maximum competition and 8 of Ligue 2. The channel will be offered to all premium television operators in France and will offer the best French football. In addition to live matches, the channel will offer news, debate programs or reports. The audiovisual group will also be responsible for the production of the meetings, applying the highest quality standards to guarantee a production of the highest level.

Currently, Mediapro is responsible for the production of 16 national leagues around the world, has been present in France since 2012 and has extensive experience in the creation and production of sports thematic channels. Its professional teams are behind the creation of OneSoccer (Canada), Golf TV (US), Porto TV (Portugal), or Real Madrid Tv, beIN Sports, beIn LaLiga, LaLiga TV or Gol in Spain.

With 58 venues on 4 continents, it is a regular provider of services for competitions such as the FIFA-World Cup, the UEFA Champions League, the Asian Games, the World Athletics Championships and the Pan American Games.
