These awards recognize research work in the field of broadcast or media engineering by students from around the world.

IABM (International Association of Broadcasting Manufacturers) has just announced the winners of the 2012 edition of the Engineering Student Award.

These awards recognize research work in the field of broadcast or media engineering by students from around the world.

To the winners, IABM will support their presence at IBC from September 7 to 11 in Amsterdam.

The winners of the Engineering Student Award are: Andrew Lawrence (University of York, United Kingdom); Gedlk Gokay, Pierre Allard, Julia Álvarez Gómez Omar and Quentin Gouhoury (Université de Valenciennes, France); Kamran Rajaby (Kingston University, United Kingdom); Yannic Alff (RheinMain University of Applied Sciences, Germany); and Melad Abou Al-Ghanam (Ryerson University, Canada).

Steve Warner, training director at the IABM Training Academy, commented: "Through this programme, IABM offers the next generation of industry professionals the opportunity to see the latest developments in technology, learn from the industry's biggest figures and possibly even meet a future employer. These awards encourage the best and brightest students to enter our industry."
