The ICT Cluster of Galicia will prioritize innovation, internationalization and competitiveness of the business sector

The ICT Cluster of Galicia gives the green light to an operational plan for the immediate future of the institution, structured in four axes: internal development, innovation, internationalization and competitiveness of the sector.

The Ordinary General Assembly of the ICT Cluster of Galicia, which was held on Friday, the 25th, in Santiago de Compostela, has approved the annual accounts and gave the green light to the operational plan for the immediate future of the institution, structured in four axes: internal development, innovation, internationalization and competitiveness of the sector.

Therefore, the group will continue working to strengthen its partner base and the ties of cooperation between them, as well as its administrative and management structure. In addition, develop actions to strengthen the ICT sector, improve the ability of companies to compete in markets, and establish an agenda of initiatives capable of promoting the key sectors of the Galician economy, through the development of innovative solutions in the field of information and communications technology.
On the other hand, the Cluster will launch an ambitious internationalization business project and an observatory in the ICT sector of Galicia.

Gerardo Riestra Crespo, president of the ICT Cluster of Galicia, assured that since November 2011, when he assumed maximum responsibility in the entity, important steps have been taken to strengthen the operational entity "a very clear orientation towards the needs of companies and priorities of the sector." He also highlighted the importance of the work of the working groups and the approach of “representative bodies of other economic sectors and those linked to universities” to put the association agreements into practice.

The General Assembly, held openly, approved the reports presented by the Strategic Committee and the Steering Committee, the accounts for the 2011 financial year and the budget for 2012. Likewise, it gave the green light to the Internal Regulations, which will give the institution greater transparency and operational capacity.
