Harmonic averapia xpress: high performance transcodification
The new file-based transcoding solution uses Harmonic Microgrid Parallel-Computer Technology to achieve higher performance in multiformat transcodification.
The new transcoder based on Average Xpress files Harmonic, last incorporation to the average line aimed at optimizing production workflows for on demand video applications (VOD), uses the H.264 codec to offer excellent video quality with high transcoding speed. It improves video workflows for content owners and service providers, allowing them to offer a significant increase in content hours.
The launch of this solution facilitates real -time transcoding and at a reduced cost of VOD in formats commonly used on platforms such as PCs, TVS connected, among others, allowing the operators and medium operators and companies to launch new services efficiently, without compromising the quality of their offer.
Average Xpress also uses Microgrid Parallel-Computing technology to achieve better transcoding performance in relation to currently available technologies.
Moore Macauley, senior director at Harmonic, stressed that “service providers and content owners should not only offer vod content for PCs, TVS and mobile devices within a tight period, but also meet the specific performance requirements for each streaming format used. Multiformate, maintaining the quality and value of its video assets through the Harmonic H.264 codec ”.
