KIT Digital carries out the automation of the Panamanian Medcom
The Medcom installation is an emblematic project in the broadcast market in Latin America.
KIT Digital has carried out the automation of the workflow and the updating of production facilities in a migration to high definition at the Panamanian Medcom.
KIT designed and implemented a workflow served from a centralized technical core composed of playout servers, storage, processing equipment and routers, intended to receive, record and edit more than twenty simultaneous signals.
As part of the project, three new HD studios for master controls have been launched and a mobile high definition production unit has been reinforced.
Ariel Matzkin, VP of Engineering for Latin America at KIT Digital, has recognized that clients "prioritize projects that improve the viewing experience of their users, from HD production facilities to IP-based systems that allow content delivery to any screen. This type of work offers the additional benefit of reducing our clients' costs and increasing the flexibility of their facilities."
Regarding the installation at Medcom, Matzkin highlighted that "it is now equipped with technology that will allow it to compete with any of the large broadcasters in the US, Europe or Latin America. Our next steps will involve the choice of a MAM solution and the development of an OTT solution to distribute Medcom content on any screen."
