Coding with Sapec at the Olympic Games
With its equipment, Sapec will cover more than 40 signals in H.264 HD/SDI 4:2:2 IP, for different television channels, both in Spain and Latin America.
Sapec, a Spanish company specialized in solutions for the transmission of video and audio signals, will be present during the next Olympic Games in London, not only with its coding equipment, but also through technical personnel who will travel to the British capital to provide support to broadcasters from the different venues.
With its equipment, Sapec will cover more than 40 signals in H.264 HD/SDI 4:2:2 IP, for different television channels, both in Spain and Latin America.
The ALtum equipment, which will be used during London 2012, are multi-format (H.264 / MPEG-2) high definition (HD) encoders and decoders, which support the 4:2:2 profile (422P@HL in MPEG-2 and Hi422P@L4 in H.264) with low delay, both in MPEG-2 and H.264, offering excellent image quality.
Regarding transport interfaces, Altum equipment has one or two IP ports and, optionally, DVB-ASI (in the encoders two output ports and in the decoders one loop input and output port). The equipment supplied for the Games will have two IP and DVB-ASI ports.
The devices can be managed by web page and by SNMP, so they can be integrated into management platforms.
