Dolby IMB is now fully compatible with the DCI specification
Dolby IMB is now fully compatible with all Series 2 projectors offering built-in support for high frame rates in 3D (48 and 60 fps), 2K, and 4K.
Coinciding with IBC, Dolby has announced that Dolby Integrated Media Block (IMB) is now compatible with the Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI) digital cinema specification.
Dolby IMB is now compatible with all Series 2 projectors offering built-in support for high frame rates in 3D (48 and 60 fps), 2K, and 4K.
Dolby customers will be able to choose between two Dolby IMB installation options. On the one hand, the lightweight DSS220 and IMB server at a list price that will be around $16,600. New customers will now be able to choose the DSS220 with Dolby IMB. Or, on the other hand, only IMB (at a price of about $11,600). Customers who have the DSS220 server and want to benefit from the IMB solution will need a software update to pair their server with the IMB solution.
