Teradek Bolt: wireless SDI transmission, now without delay
Bolt is a new wireless link that transmits and receives uncompressed HD-SDI signals in 1080p60 04:02:02 with complete fidelity in terms of quality and without delay.
Teradek has launched its new Teradek Bolt Wireless SDI wireless link system for those environments in which being able to deliver uncompressed video without delay is of vital importance.
With the new Teradek Bolt, Teradek adds a new solution to its award-winning line of systems for wireless video transmission. Bolt is a wireless link that transmits and receives uncompressed SDI signals in 1080p60 04:02:02 with full fidelity in terms of quality and without delay.
Nicol Verheem, CEO of Teradek, commented that "we are very excited to introduce Bolt to the market, as a solution for all those who really need zero latency systems, and we are eager to see it in action, both in large and small productions. The possibility of having a link without delay has always been a niche that we have very much in mind. Now, we have designed the most compact and accessible relay-less HD-SDI link so that users can benefit from recording up to 912 meters. "
Bolt consists of a compact T6061 aluminum transmitter and a small receiver, also made of durable ABS plastic. The transmitter has a 3G-SDI input, multiple anchoring and mounting points, an internal Li-Ion battery, and a Lemo DC input for power from any 6-18V battery or DC source.
The receiver has double 3G SDI output, which allows simultaneous monitoring, as well as the connection of this Teradek solution with other systems.
Bolt can transmit uncompressed Full HD video up to almost one hundred meters and can coexist with other wireless networks, with dynamic adjustment of the frequency bands used in real time. Each transmitter can feed video to up to 256 recipients at the same time without any degradation of video quality.
Users can output video from a Bolt receiver to a Teradek Cube for additional workflow, such as proxy recording, streaming, and monitoring on iPads and iPhones.
