This new monitor is ideal for 4K film production (on-set monitoring, dailies and editing), live 4K production (camera control, program preview) and real-time 4K presentation.

With 30 inches and a resolution of 4096x2160, Sony's new PVM-X300 professional monitor will offer effective support for 4K monitoring in the field. Its 4K LCD panel is capable of displaying more than quadruple the resolution compared to Full HD format on a single screen.

It incorporates the Trimaster technological architecture, exclusive to Sony, achieving excellent quality image and color reproduction, which makes the monitor ideal for 4K film production (monitoring, dailies and editing on set), 4K live production (camera control, program preview) and 4K presentation in real time.

The industry had, without a doubt, been demanding a monitor with the portability, critical focus and a wide variety of interfaces that would allow a critical evaluation of 4K images in the field itself.

The PVM-X300 monitor can incorporate an innovative 4K player that offers unprecedented ease of handling 4K content. This expands the new world of 4K not only to cinematic applications but also to live productions, documentaries, and commercial and industrial applications.

This new professional video monitor also incorporates a 10-bit RGB panel and uniformity control, and can accurately display the industry standard color space, ITU-R BT.709. Likewise, the PVM-X300 unit has IPS (In Plane Switching) technology to achieve a greater viewing angle.

Interfaces

Thanks to its wide variety of interfaces, the monitor can connect to almost any 4K imaging equipment and support various display modes. Among other functions, the automatic white adjustment stands out (this function is expected from V1.1 expected for the second quarter of 2013 and which will be compatible with the main color analyzers on the market), Camera Assist (focus on color, xoom) and stereo audio (stereo speaker, line output, headphone jack).

As for interfaces, it has: 4 3G/HD-SDI inputs with monitor output, 4 HDMI inputs and 2 DisplayPort inputs, supporting 4096×2160/24p and 3840×2160/24, 25, 30p with a single HDMI cable. The PVM-X300 is also equipped with a unique 4096x2160/60p video signal evaluation function with a single HDMI cable when connected to the new F55 4K camera system.
4K SxS player (optional).

The PVM-X300 can incorporate an optional 4K player, capable of easily playing 4K content. The new SxS PRO+ high-speed memory, which supports high frame rate recording in XAVC 4K and XAVC HD formats, can be inserted into the player providing the ability to quickly view camera images and 4K programs.

The PVM-X300 4K monitor will be available from February 2013.
