On this day, in addition to publicizing the characteristics of said standard and analyzing the comparative advantages over others, demonstrations and real-time measurements were carried out on BTESA transmitters.

Broad Telecom (BTESA) recently held a technical conference on DVB-T2 (second generation or extension of the DVB-T standard) at its facilities in Madrid.

This conference was attended by technical personnel from the main actors in the implementation of Digital Terrestrial Television in Spain, both operators and public administration. During it, in addition to making known the characteristics of said standard and analyzing the comparative advantages over others, demonstrations and real-time measurements were carried out on BTESA transmitters.

Alejandro Moya, design engineer and member of BTESA's R&D&I department, presented during the day the possibilities in network design, based on experiences acquired by BTESA staff in the field, thanks to the implementation of its transmitters in different countries.

Finally, the DVB-T2 Lite standard (lightened version for mobile applications) was analyzed. In this regard, it is worth highlighting the trial that BTESA is carrying out in collaboration with the Danish operator Open Channel, tests that are also demonstrating its usefulness as an alternative to the DAB and DAB+ digital radio standards.

Among the technological innovations launched this year by BTESA, the LDMOS amplifiers based on Doherty Technology stand out. The design of these amplifiers places special emphasis on improving efficiency, up to 40% efficiency in the amplifiers, allowing operators to considerably reduce energy consumption at the stations.
