The Taiwanese manufacturer Foxconn has just acquired a significant block of shares in the mini-camera manufacturer GoPro, in the hands of Woodman Labs. The Asian company has acquired a total of 8.8% of GoPro shares for an amount of 200 million dollars.

With this figure, it is deduced that GoPro's market value at this time would be around $2.25 billion and the assets of its founder, Nicholas Woodman, would be valued at more than $1.15 billion.

Foxconn, a company very popular for manufacturing gadgets from Apple and other brands, will become part of GoPro's board of directors. His representative will be Terry Gou, CEO of Foxconn. Gou has described this operation as “a great opportunity.”
