Harman buys lighting company Martin Professional

The president of Harman, Dinesh Paliwal, has assured that this operation, valued at around 110 million euros, will complement the company's excellent business for professional environments, serving the entire global industry, including the BRIC developing countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China).

El grupo Harman ha iniciado el proceso de compra de la compañía danesa especializada en iluminación para entretenimiento y arquitectura Martin Professional. El acuerdo se estima en unos 110 millones de euros, según Schouw & Co., el accionista mayoritario de Martin.

The lighting installations carried out for the latest concerts by Lady Gaga, Lenny Kravitz and Linkin Park, as well as events such as the Olympic Games and television productions such as The X-Factor y MTV Music Awards, highlight Martin's enviable position in this sector.

Harman President Dinesh Paliwal said the agreement will complement the company's excellent professional business, serving the entire global industry, including the BRIC developing countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China).

“With the acquisition of Martin Professional, our strategy to offer system solutions for our clients will be further expanded as we are able to provide complete electronic solutions for audio and lighting for live productions and events, as well as for permanent installations,” said Paliwal.

For his part, Martin president Christian Engsted added that the company is very excited about the prospect of integration between Martin and Harman. "Our intelligent solutions for tourism, events and entertainment are a natural and perfect complement to Harman's professional audio business. Our customers expect that the growth of Harman's advanced integrated solutions and broad technology portfolio will allow us to address new business opportunities.
