'The Impossible' sweeps the V Gaudí Awards
The film directed by Juan Antonio Bayona wins the award for best editing (Elena Ruiz and Bernat Vilaplana), photography (Óscar Faura), sound (Oriol Tarragó and Marc Orts) and makeup-costumes (Oscar winners David Martí and Montse Ribé).
Impossible, by Juan Antonio Bayona, has swept this weekend at the V Gaudí Awards, awarded by the Catalan Cinema Academy, by obtaining the six statuettes for which it aspired.
The film, which captures the experiences of a Spanish couple during the tsunami that devastated Southeast Asia in 2004, also won the Gaudí award for best European film, the award for best editing (Elena Ruiz and Bernat Vilaplana), photography (Óscar Faura), sound (Oriol Tarragó and Marc Orts) and makeup-costumes (Oscar winners David Martí and Montse Ribé).
The second place in the list of winners was snow white, by Pablo Berger, which won the Gaudí Awards for best film in the Catalan language, artistic direction (Alain Bainée), original music (Alfonso de Vilallonga) and costumes (Paco Delgado).
The third most awarded production has been A gun in each hand, by Cesc Gay, which won the award for best film in a non-Catalan language, for best script (Tomàs Aragay and Cesc Gay) and for best supporting performances (Eduard Fernández and Candela Peña).
