Unidad Astronomica and Derivas Films begin filming 'Supernatural' in 4K with RED One

The film directed by Juan Figueroa and starring the bullfighter Andrés Vázquez is the second feature film from these production companies.

The production company Unidad Astronómica from Salamanca and the Extremaduran company Derivas Films have begun filming Supernatural, a fiction feature starring the Zamorano bullfighter Andrés Vázquez and directed by Juan Figueroa.

Filming will take place for 3 weeks in Zamora and Salamanca; Campos de Villalpando, Lagunas de Villafáfila and the DA2 contemporary art museum, among other locations.

This is the second co-production between Derivas Films and Unidad Astronómica after filming in 2011 of Animal Stone, directed by Juan Figueroa and starring the sculptor Severiano Grande. For filming in Digital 4K RED One and post-production, the technological support of Auriga Studios in the north of Cáceres is used.

Juan Figueroa has highlighted that "an inner journey to the mystery of the bull. Master Andrés Vázquez prepares to kill a bull. Or to die. He prepares for death. Art is a preparation for death. He delves into the same enigmas that are involved in death (anguish, loneliness, transcendence...) Supernatural It is a meditation on death and an expedition towards oneself. A journey through silence. That's why it's not a bullfighting movie, but a movie for everyone."
