Fujifilm will debut new lenses and updates at NAB
Fujifilm will debut new lenses and updates at NAB 2013, including an enhanced version of its Emmy-winning “Precision Focus Assist” technology and the latest in PL Mount, EFP, Studio and ENG lenses.
Two high-performance lenses, the Premier PL 85-300 Cabrio (model ZK3.5×85) and the XA99x8.4 UltraWide production lenses, will debut this year at NAB from Fujifilm. While the PL 85-300 is similar in size and weight to the PL 19-90mm Cabrio (model ZK4.7×19), its longer focus length is ideal for shooting documentaries, nature and wildlife, and commercials. The PL 85-300 offers a focal length of 85-220mm at T2.9 and 300mm at T4.0, with focus rotation of 200 degrees.
The PL 85-300 Cabrio has been designed using the latest optical simulation technology and not only offers exceptional optical performance in the center of the image, but also in the corners of the frame. Like the acclaimed PL 19-90 Cabrio, the PL 85-300 is equipped with the same essential features including focal length adjustment, a 1.2m MOD, a macro function for objects as close as 97mm and covering a diagonal sensor size of 31.5mm.
The digital servo, with 16-bit encoding, ensures that all data outputs of all lenses, such as zoom, iris and focus position, are extremely accurate and the lenses support lens data system (LDS) and metadata formats. Like the PL 19-90, the new PL 85-300 Cabrio includes a detachable servo drive unit, making it suitable for use as a standard PL lens or as an ENG type lens. And the PL 85-300 can be controlled using industry-standard wireless controllers, as well as existing Fujinon wired and wireless units.
The entire range of Premier PL 4K+ cinema lenses can be found at the firm's stand. The following lenses will also be on display: 14.5-45mm T2.0, 18-85mm T2.0, 24-180mm T2.6 and 75-400mm T2.8-T3.8.
The new XA99x UltraWide lens is ideal for live entertainment and sporting event production. Also on display will be an XA99xPF with an improved version of the “Precision Focus Assist” (Precision Focus Assist, (PF)), representing the first time this model includes PF technology. The assist automatically adjusts focus, ensuring fast and precise focusing of HD images under any changing conditions. The XA99x UltraWide offers a 99x zoom range, a focus length of 8.4 to 832mm and MOD of 2.9m. The 832mm. Like other lenses in this product line, including the XA77x9.5, XA88x8.8, XA88x12.5 and the XA101x8.9, the
The XA99x8.4 includes patented and newly developed image stabilization technology for solid performance, something that is vitally important for long-distance HD shooting. High-resolution, 16-bit encoders are standard, making them suitable for virtual, robotic and digital signage, among other applications. Fujinon's exclusive GO-TECHnology improves image resolution and reduces chromatic aberrations at all focus lengths.
In addition to the 1/3-inch eXceed line, there is a new version of Fujinon's XT17sx4.5 1/3-inch lens. The new XT17sx4.5BMD lens includes comprehensive remote control for video conferencing, cameras for weather-related news and education, and robotic study applications.
Other new arrivals at NAB include lenses from the Premier Series of high-performance ENG lenses for 2/3-inch cameras, the HA 19X7.4, the super wide-angle HA 14×4.5 and the HA 16×6.3 lenses. Also on display will be ZA Select series lenses for telephoto, remote control and with and without 2X extender versions.
