Hollywood's Chinese Theater will host an IMAX

After a renovation, it will be the largest IMAX auditorium in the world, in terms of number of seats, and the third largest commercial screen in North America.

IMAX and Chinese Theaters have closed an agreement to incorporate IMAX technology in the popular Chinese Theater in Hollywood.
Once a complete remodeling of the venue is completed, this will be the largest IMAX auditorium in the world, in terms of number of seats, and the third largest commercial screen in North America. This will be the first major renovation of the legendary cinema, it will begin at the beginning of May and will be completed at the end of this year.

The theater's president and chief operating officer, Alwyn Hight Kushner, said: "As we embark on this long-awaited renovation of the Chinese Theatre, IMAX will play a key role in the renovation of this historic landmark. We believe IMAX Entertainment's unique technology, along with its portfolio of great films, will usher in a new era at the famous theater, as well as strengthening our business to deliver a high-quality experience to our customers."

During the renovation, several auditoriums in the complex will remain open, as well as the hall with the footprints and handprints of celebrities and the Grauman's Ballroom where numerous events are held in Hollywood.
