The Chinese group Wanda buys the Legendary Entertainment studios
The film factory, based in Hollywood, produced box office hits such as 'Jurassic Park', 'Godzilla', 'Batman' and 'Inception'.
At the same time that Wanda assumed the tensions of the Stock Market and withdrew from major projects such as the renovation of the España Building in Madrid, the Chinese group announced this Monday the purchase of the Legendary Entertainment studios. The operation could be around 3.5 billion dollars (about 3.24 billion euros).
The announcement was made by the company's president, Wang Jianlin, together with the president and CEO of Legendary, Thomas Tull, at a Chinese company hotel in Beijing.

Wanda entered the film sector in 2012 when she bought AMC Entertainment, one of the largest exhibition chains in the United States. The group also owns the Chinese cinema chain, Wanda Cinema Line, and is currently building a mega production complex in the coastal city of Qingdao.
In its first phase, Legendary has already filmed part of The Great Wall, the film that will be released this year by Wanda and directed by Zhang Yimou.
