The Panamanian audiovisual group chooses AEQ technology to equip two new digital studios.

AEQ Grand Forum and TVN Panama

Televisora Nacional de Panamá (TVN), a television network that operates from Panama City for the entire national territory and southern area of Costa Rica, has selected digital audio mixers from the Forum family to equip two new digital studios. AEQ.

One of the studios has a Forum console with a 12-fader control surface, with capacity for 7 microphones, 16 stereo inputs and 8 analog outputs, as well as 8 AES digital signals that can be adapted to SPDIF. Although Forum can support up to two integrated digital telephone hybrids, TVN has decided to acquire, due to their versatility, two external AEQ TH03.1 digital hybrid units that are controlled remotely via GPIOs from the programmable buttons on the console's control surface. As a curiosity, it should be noted that the console has incorporated an audio input and output module on a USB interface, which allows the mixer to communicate with the PCs of the automation system without them having any type of professional or dedicated audio multimedia card.

The second studio is a broadcast booth designed on the Grand Forum digital console with an extended 20-fader control surface, allowing up to 9 microphones, 16 analog lines and 4 AES digital lines. Communications in this case also rely on digital telephone hybrids model AEQ TH3.1 controlled remotely through GPIOs from the console.

To complete the supply from AEQ, two complete specific wiring kits for AEQ Forum consoles were supplied with the aim of simplifying the installation and reducing the start-up time of the two new studios.

The entire project has been coordinated by TVN's technical manager, Rolando Guerra, in collaboration with AEQ's central technical and commercial services in Spain.
