Australian News Channel (ANC) has just acquired a major upgrade to its production system Quantel sQ, adding the latest version of V5 software and QTube connected workflow technology. The update will expand Quantel's current system, adding new editing capabilities, with a more agile and better managed workflow, allowing for the expansion of services such as Sky News National, Sky News Business, Sky News Weather, Sky News New Zealand and A-PAC (Australia's Public Affairs Channel).

Thanks to Quantel's QTube, ANC journalists will now be able to send their reports remotely, accessing and editing content in the Enterprise sQ system at the headquarters in Sydney... and all this, using standard Internet connectivity.

Angelos Frangopoulos, CEO of ANC, highlighted that "our Quantel Enterprise sQ system has served us well for many years at Australian News Channel, to support our entire operation as it has grown in size and success. Therefore, it was a natural choice to turn, looking to the future, to Quantel to continue having the shortest possible time to air, fantastic ease of use and great performance. We are also very excited about the possibilities that QTube brings to the network ANC, since with this solution, our production center will be extended to all the countries in which we operate.”

Martin Mulligan, sales director at Quantel, says he is delighted that "Australian News Channel has once chosen Quantel to expand its facilities. Quantel QTube is the perfect system for ANC, allowing its users to seamlessly access and combine content from anywhere across the ANC network."
