Conxita Casanovas, 2013 Alfonso Sánchez Communication Award from the Film Academy
The director and host of the program 'Va de cine', on Ràdio 4 (RNE), receives this award that recognizes "the work of the media and its professionals to disseminate and promote our cinema."
RNE journalist Conxita Casanovas received this Tuesday, at the headquarters of the Film Academy and from the hands of its president, Enrique González Macho, the Alfonso Sánchez Communication Award, an award that each year distinguishes the work of the media and its professionals to disseminate and promote our cinema.
"I have always felt like one of yours because I have always felt you at my side, never in front of me. I have always tried to help, to help the talent, of which there is a lot in our cinema, shine and come to the fore. And this award gives me drive and energy to continue in it," stated Casanovas.
The director and presenter of the program From whom, from Ràdio 4, which also covers the most important national and international film festivals and events for Radio Nacional de España, is the first woman to receive this prestigious award created by the Academy in memory of the man who for decades was the Spanish voice of film criticism and who in previous editions has gone to programs such as Spanish Version, from TVE, or professionals like Antonio Gasset or Diego Galán.
The Catalan journalist was accompanied at this event by colleagues, friends and film professionals such as Assumpta Serna, Lola Marceli, Juanjo Puigcorbé, Carmelo Romero, Fernando Lara, Julieta Serrano, Puy Oria and Fernando López Puig (director of TVE's film area), as well as by numerous colleagues from RNE, with whom she shared the award.
Conxita Casanovas was the first woman to serve as president of the jury of the Sant Jordi Cinematography Awards and has collaborated in different media. For her dissemination of the seventh art, she has been awarded by the Catalan Cinema Academy and the Lleida Latin American Film Festival – Ángel Fernández Santos Award –, recognitions for her professional career to which she now adds the Alfonso Sánchez.
