An electronic engineer from the Mauá School of Engineering and a postgraduate from the FGV, the new president of RFS in Latin America has more than 28 years of experience in the telecommunications and technology sectors.

RFSRadio Frequency Systems (RFS), global manufacturer of solutions for wireless and broadcast communications, has appointed Wagner Ferreira as the new president of RFS Latin America, replacing Roberto Pinto.

An electronic engineer from the Mauá School of Engineering and a postgraduate from the FGV, the new president of RFS in Latin America has more than 28 years of experience in the telecommunications and technology sectors. Having chaired Lucent until 2006, he was actively involved in the Alcatel-Lucent merger and assumed important commercial responsibilities in relation to Brazilian operators and government authorities.

Ferreira's main challenge at RFS will be to continue increasing market share in the region by 10% by the end of 2014. "I am very optimistic about this new challenge. The telecommunications market has changed rapidly in recent years and the current situation shows great growth potential, especially in the wireless segment, which is precisely where RFS acts most strongly," he assured.

To achieve this objective, which he admits is ambitious, Ferreira is based on the opportunities that will arise with the new mobile communications structures necessary for the 2014 World Cup and the 700 Mhz auction.
