EVS has been selected by Timeline Television to provide its solutions at the heart of what will be the new sports broadcaster in the United Kingdom, BTSport.

The new sports channels will be produced at the new iCity production complex located in the former International Broadcasting Center (IBC) in London's Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Part of the IBC building has been remodeled with three television studios, a control center, 20 editing rooms and a waiting area for the public.

From these facilities, BTSport will broadcast BTSport 1, BTSport 2 and ESPN. BTSport will broadcast 38 exclusive live football matches from the English Barclays Premier League, in addition to the FA Cup, the UEFA Europe League, as well as numerous information and debate programs.

There is also integration with nearline storage of Harmonic, with immediate access to high and low resolution files through EVS IPBrowse. An IP2Archive system has also been installed to store content, easily reused in production with LTO.

BTSport operators, editors and journalists will use a total of 200 IPBrowse stations, providing easy and instant access to hundreds of hours of low-resolution connected content over the EVS network. This will allow you to directly select and move material into the Avid timeline.

Dan McDonnell, general director of Timeline Television, has assured that "this new infrastructure provides BT with the most advanced tools on the market, which will allow it to offer editorial content to viewers quickly, maximizing productivity through its workflow. Throughout the project we have had a very close collaboration with EVS, providing its knowledge in sports production workflows to ensure that the system is fast, sensitive, reliable and robust in all areas."

Luc Doneux, Executive Vice President of the EVS Sports Division, highlights that "in a project of this size and scale, the flexibility and seamless third-party integration that EVS systems offer really comes to the fore. The fact that the XT3 and

Finally, Jamie Hindhaugh, COO of BTSport, stated that "at the heart of our new studios has been a spirit of collaboration to offer the best in the industry, sometimes competition, working towards a common goal: turning BTSport into an access point where the best ideas and talent come together. We believe that talent attracts talent and our collaboration with EVS has helped foster that mentality."
