Tgcom24 broadcasts interviews from all over the world with Teracue encoders
Easy start-up and operation, reliability and a high degree of mobility with minimal space requirements are the most important aspects that have prevailed in Tgcom24's decision to use Teracue encoders/decoders.
Italian 24/7 news channel Tgcom24 is employing the services of IE Towers to contribute interviews from anywhere in the world using Teracue's IPTV encoding technology.
In a configuration called “Totem”, designed as a flight-case, these equipment make it possible for the all-news broadcaster, belonging to the Mediaset group, to directly integrate its foreign correspondents into programming with a low level of technical and management effort.
Easy start-up and operation, reliability and a high degree of mobility with minimal space requirements are the most important aspects that have prevailed in Tgcom24's decision. Today, the broadcaster's journalists and correspondents in New York, London, Brussels, Jerusalem and Rome can start interviews and live connections without the need for technical support and without prior technical knowledge.
This compact system allows you to get it up and running at the touch of a button. Fully equipped with a robotic camera, microphone, lighting panels and display… all technology is pre-configured with various presets for live use and can also be managed externally by remote access if necessary. As a result, the journalist can concentrate solely on the interview and does not require any further technical infrastructure or technical support staff.
For stable signal transmission, Teracue's robust hardware encoders are used integrated into these “Totems”. The video signals are compressed into H.264 with ENC-200 encoders and sent over the Internet to the master control room in Milan.
Next, the live videos of all the “Totems” are collected, decompressing them with the Teracue decoders in H.264 in real time.
An additional encoder/decoder set is used in the reverse configuration to transmit images of the news presented from the main studio to the “Totem”.
The encoders and decoders also provide Teracue's integrated Talback audio conferencing function, allowing questions to be transmitted from the studio to the correspondent's location. Teracue equipment has been supplied by Network Electronics Italia.
