Zon chooses Nagra and Appear Tv for its new satellite infrastructure
The Appear TV encryption module is compatible with major CA systems and supports simulcript and scrambling interface of most encoding formats including MPEG-2 and H.264 in both SD and HD.
The Portuguese operator has chosen the technology of Appear TV for scrambling and multiplexing your satellite signals. The installation, which will come into operation at the end of this year, is being designed by Satcab, Appear TV's partner in Zon Multimedia.
José Pascoal, technical and planning director of Zon, highlights that "the flexibility and high density of Appear TV's encoding solution makes it an ideal choice for our improved satellite transmission infrastructure. We already use Appear TV headends in our RF network, so we understand the advantages of the company's modular design philosophy. Appear TV's encoding and multiplexing solutions play an important role in improving our infrastructures."
The project is fully redundant (1+1) using high-density encryption and multiplexing modules. The chassis are located in the main head of Zon. Four statistically multiplexed inputs feed into Zon's satellite encryption modules, offering security with conditional access. Nagra Aladin after PSI/SI multiplexing and remultiplexing of the transport stream.

El encriptador tiene una interfaz dedicada Ethernet hacia el servidor de CA, totalmente compatible con DVB Simulcrypt y permite codificación de hasta 850 Mbit/s y 250 servicios por chasis. El codificador se puede combinar con cualquiera de las entradas disponibles, desencriptado o módulos de salida, lo que permite a los operadores gestionar los servicios desde la recepción hasta el streaming con una sola interfaz de usuario.
