Turner Esporte Interactive chooses Ateme for its new 4K header in Brazil

As part of a strong commitment to 4K, the Brazilian platform has launched a new video headend in São Paulo that has been equipped with Ateme's Kyrion encoders and decoders.

Turner Esporte Interactive in Brazil is making a strong commitment to the launch of Ultra High Definition services. Within this plan, a new video headend has just been launched in São Paulo that has been equipped with Kyrion encoders and decoders from Atem.

Turner is already using this technology to receive signals from the Euro 2016 IBC in France.

Gustavo Dutra, director regional de Ateme en Brasil, afirma que “nuestra solución Kyrion es a prueba de futuro, con una opción de actualización de software HEVC y el servicio pay-as-you-grow: SD a HD para UHD, y MPEG2 a H.264 HEVC. Turner Esporte Interativo está desplegando la solución mejor en su clase, al tiempo que garantiza el futuro de su servicio al conseguir mejoras en la calidad de vídeo”.

EL directivo asegura que Turner necesitaba una solución que ofreciera la más alta calidad de video incluso en entornos con limitaciones de ancho de banda.

The fifth generation Stream compression engine used by Kyrion systems is responsible for providing the best baseband video quality at minimum bit rates. This solution has been designed for contribution over satellite and IP networks, with value-added features such as ultra-fast-startup, ultra-low latency and ABR output.
