Sapec supplies the new Asia-Oceania header for RTVE

Después de la adjudicación hace unos meses de la cabecera para Europa, la corporación RTVE ha vuelto a confiar en Sapec para el suministro, instalación, configuración y mantenimiento de los codificadores y multiplexores que han de renovar la anterior cabecera satelital para Asia-Oceanía. Esta cabecera subirá al satélite el Canal Internacional Asia y los canales de radio Radio Exterior de España y Radio Contribución.

Esta cabecera subirá al satélite el Canal Internacional Asia y los canales de radio Radio Exterior de España y Radio Contribución.

The encoders and multiplexers supplied belong to the SIVAC family, designed and manufactured by Sapec. The encoder model supplied is the SIVAC 2000, mounted in a 2RU chassis, which incorporates a redundant power supply and has the capacity for up to 4 encoder boards. The multiplexers selected for this project are the SIVAC MTS 1400, which allow up to 8 ASI inputs and 2 ASI outputs, performing automatic switching in case of failure of one of the inputs. Both the encoders and multiplexers will be in 1+1 configuration.

El nuevo equipamiento de la cabecera, sustituirá al actual, manteniendo compatibilidad total con la actual y con los receptores existentes. Entre algunas de las mejoras que introduce la nueva cabecera suministrada por Sapec son: inserción de teletexto VBI, inclusión de subtitulado DVB, subtitulado CEA-708, posibilidad de emisión en formato 16:9 según señalización AFD y/o WSS, e inserción de teletexto tanto en formato analógico como digital, eliminando la necesidad de conversores y/o embebedores externos.

One of the key aspects in choosing the Sapec headend was the possibility of inserting up to three radio channels in a single video encoder, eliminating the need to use external audio encoders. Another very important aspect was the good image quality offered by its encoders at low bit-rates. RTVE will carry out the control and configuration of all the equipment through the management software developed by SAPEC SIVAC NMS-1000, which allows total control in real time of all the equipment on the network.
