The Catalan Xarxa equips its radio studios with AEQ digital consoles

The Catalan radio network installs Grand Forum digital consoles with a 20-fader chassis, Arena with 25 faders and Forum with 12 faders, all from AEQ, in its central studios in Barcelona.

Founded as COM-Radio, in the form of a public radio channel for Catalonia, in March 1995 on the basis of a group of Catalan municipal stations promoted by the Provincial Council of Barcelona and managed by the Consorci de Comunicació Local, it currently groups together under the name of La Xarxa about a hundred consortium stations.

One of the chosen consoles, the AEQ Grand Forum is a mixing console designed for on-air emissions control. It incorporates all the basic features necessary in this type of environment: modular design, small size, automatic cut-off of monitors, cough cut-off, faderstart, signaling control, control signals for the automation of external equipment, management of external communications, intercommunication,...

With a modular design and small size, this console adapts perfectly to different scenarios: self-control, studio control, television production controls, sound production, mixed configurations, integration in large installations, etc.

The new AEQ Forum consoles are operating in self-control mode for two studios with guests. Thanks to their extremely quiet operation, these consoles can be part of installations in critical locations.

Furthermore, within the same improvement project, AEQ has installed a new AEQ Arena digital console with 25 faders and expanded the central matrix of its main control using AEQ BC-2000D technology to allow the new digital consoles to be interconnected with this router over dedicated multi-channel digital audio links over fiber optics in the universal MADI protocol, which will even facilitate the interconnection with equipment from other manufacturers in the future.
