NBC will centralize the intake at Sochi 2014 with technology from the Portuguese MOG

The MXFSpeedrail solution will enable NBC Olympics to increase the performance of its production workflow during coverage of the Sochi 2014 Winter Games.

MOG Technologies has been selected to provide a seamless MXF stream and advanced GOP to NBC Olympics ahead of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

With access to a full range of automated solutions for forming, re-wrap, digital delivery and streaming of content on MXF, NBC Olympics will benefit from extensive interoperability between all platforms and media formats used in coverage of the Winter Games.

The broadcaster will take advantage of all the capabilities of the MXFSpeedrail F1000 to shape the clips captured from Harmonic MediaDeck 7000, splicing together the disparate clips and repackaging the finished material into a new MXF OP1a to deliver it to the servers for multi-platform distribution.

The system will also allow handling of growing files, saving time for editors when sending their EDL to conform, and the ability to merge sub-clips from multiple LongGOP sources.

The fully interoperable system will be integrated with Avid Interplay MAM, which will be responsible for distribution and load balancing between different workstations, and Harmonic Media Grid storage, demonstrating great interoperability between platforms.
