EiTB renews its ingest and playout for studios with Harmonic technology

Aicox Soluciones carries out the renovation of the playout and ingest video servers in the Basque regional studios.

Basque Television (EiTB) continues with its plan to renew its continuity and study systems using technology from Harmonic by the hand of Aicox Solutions.

This renovation is the continuation of a project already started at the beginning of 2017 and that responded to the need to change systems that were reaching the end of their useful life, taking advantage to carry out a migration to HD with the ability to broadcast in simultcast.

During the next two phases carried out in the last half of 2017, the renewal of playout video servers for studies and those of the intake.

For phase 2, Aicox Soluciones has provided the playout video servers in the studio, to serve 18 recording and playback channels, with a minimum of 14TB net storage. The chosen solution consists of video Spectrum-X servers y Spectrum MediaDirector controllers.

In a third phase, the integrator has supplied the video servers for ingestion with service for 24 recording and playback channels, with a minimum of 24TB net storage. In this case, the Basque regional company has opted for MediaCenter2200B storage systems and Spectrum-X video servers.

MediaDirector system controllers are the core of the Spectrum video server system, actively managing the flow of data to and from other Spectrum components, such as storage systems. MediaStore, real-time I/O servers MediaPort and integrated playback servers ChannelPort. MediaDirectors provide the processing power and interface connections necessary to support a wide range of configurations and workflows.

Lastly, the Spectrum MediaCenter 2200B media server is ideal for applications with up to 20 channels, providing file system management and storage and communication for video and audio capture and playback.
