Comcast Corp. has reached an agreement to acquire Time Warner Cable for $45 billion. This operation will mark the merger of the two main cable television operators in the United States and a victory for Concast over the fourth cable operator in the country, Charter Communications, and its main shareholder, Liberty Media Corp.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Time Warner Cable shareholders would receive $158.82 per share, about $23 per share above what TWC was trading.

Charter's most recent offer was valued at $132.50 per share, which was rejected by TWC, which was asking for $160 per share.
