The WTA awards its annual awards to Arqiva and Advantech's ShapphireBlu technology

These awards are presented each year to organizations and individuals in the teleport sector whose achievements have been rated as exceptional.

The World Teleport Association (WTA, for its acronym in English) has announced the winners of its nineteenth Excellence Awards. These awards are presented each year to organizations and individuals in the teleport sector whose achievements have been rated as exceptional.

As teleport of the year, WTA has awarded its award to Archive for being at the forefront of network solutions and services in the digital world. Arqiva provides much of the television, radio, satellite and wireless communications infrastructure in the UK and has a significant presence in Ireland, continental Europe and the US. Its clients include broadcasters such as the BBC, ITV, BSkyB. Arqiva is honored with this award for the fourth time, after obtaining it in 2003, 2007 and 2011.

Regarding technology of the year, WTA has recognized the SapphireBlu HPA development of Advantech Wireless. With high power density in a compact, robust and weather-resistant package, the SapphireBlu series with UltraLinear Gan technology based on SSPAs and BUCs is emerging as an ideal solution for DTH TV. Advantech's proposal allows a single HPA to transmit simultaneously from a single antenna to all the transponders of a specific satellite, with regular or extended bands.

The winners were selected by a committee of WTA experts along with representatives of the companies that have won in previous years.
