Egatel will show its high-efficiency UHF transmitters with Doherty technology at NAB

The Doherty solution is Broadband for the first time, which means that it is applicable to the entire UHF band and it will not be necessary for operators to make any changes or modifications to the amplifiers when changing channels.

Egatel will attend NAB like every year, to present its latest developments in television transmitters. At its stand, we will be able to see the new high-efficiency UHF Broadband transmitters (WHET Series). The Doherty solution is Broadband for the first time, which means that it is applicable to the entire UHF band and it will not be necessary for operators to make any changes or modifications to the amplifiers when changing channels.

As an example of the WHET Series, a 3KW DVB/ISDB (4KW ATSC) transmitter, model TLWH7804, will be on display. The liquid cooling equipment is characterized by its completely modular design and includes a pump system integrated in the same rack as the transmitter. This solution optimizes the investment and design of our facilities.

In air cooling, real operation will be presented and demonstrated with the Doherty 600 Wrms DVB/ISDB (700Wrms ATSC) amplifier, model AUH601, with which integrations of up to 5 amplifiers per rack can be carried out, reaching powers close to 3 kW in DVB/ISDB (3.5KW in ATSC), with unbeatable energy performance. The design of these amplifiers includes aspects that synthesize all of Egatel's "know-how", avoiding air circulation through boards or components, using removable power supplies on the front or arranging the fans on the outside for simple replacement without having to open the module.

The Doherty technology applied to the amplifiers provides performance of up to 42%, significantly optimizing energy consumption and, therefore, operating costs.

Regardless of the power or cooling system used, Egatel offers its modulators in 1U 19″ designs for DVB-T/-H/T2, ISDB-T/TB and ATSC standards, complying with the highest technical quality parameters. Adaptive digital precorrection is offered as standard in all configurations, facilitating operation and maintenance, and with the use of control programs based on embedded web servers, removable memories with front insertion for loading and downloading configurations, RF monitoring options,…
