'Eight Basque surnames' surpasses 'Titanic' and 'The Impossible'
The comedy directed by Emilio Martínez-Lázaro exceeds 44.5 million euros and accumulates more than 7.5 million viewers.
Eight Basque surnames It continues unstoppable and is already the biggest Spanish film in history both in revenue and in number of spectators. With more than 44.5 million euros at the box office, it has managed to surpass the mark of Impossible as the highest-grossing Spanish film and has also placed itself in second position in the ranking of films with the highest grossing in our country, only surpassed by Avatar. Since last weekend it is also the Spanish film that has accumulated the most viewers, a figure that currently amounts to more than 7.5 million.
In addition, it continues to be number one at the Spanish box office since it was released on March 14, thus becoming the Spanish-language film that has spent the most consecutive weeks at the top of the ranking.
The film grossed 3.4 million euros last weekend, which represents more than 9,700 euros per screen (accumulating 44% of the total box office) and has been seen by more than 482,000 spectators.
The adventures of Rafa (Dani Rovira), a pure Andalusian, on his trip to Euskadi to conquer the Basque Amaia (Clara Lago), has a script by Borja Cobeaga and Diego San José. The film is produced by LaZona, Kowalski Films and Snow Films A.I.E. for Telecinco Cinema, and has the collaboration of ETB and Canal+, with Universal Pictures International Spain in charge of its distribution.
