Crambo, Tangram and KBN show Panasonic's latest proposals at BIT Broadcast 2014
Crambo, Tangram Solutions and KBN Media, three leading distributors and integrators in the Spanish market, are exhibiting the latest Panasonic cameras at BIT Broadcast 2014, highlighting among them the new AJ-PX270, winner of the Panorama Award for Best Capture Solution.
Panasonic is very present at the International Audiovisual Technology Exhibition, BIT Broadcast 2014, through three Crambo, Tangram Solutions and KBN Media, three leading distributors and integrators in the Spanish market.
On Crambo's part, professionals visiting the fair these days can see the advantage provided by three of the camcorders from Panasonic's extensive portfolio of capture solutions. On the one hand, we find the AK-HC3500 studio camera, a 2/3 multifunction that captures 1080i video using three 2.2 megapixel CCDs and, on the other, the first P2HD camcorder with native AVC-Ultra AJ-PX5000 recording.
It is the first P2 HD camcorder with native AVC-ULTRA recording and microP2 card slots, with 3 MOS 2/3 sensors and 2.2 million pixels that combines excellent image quality with very light weight). It is noteworthy that the AJ-PX5000 records in 720p and 1080i formats, and for the first time in the P2HD range, also in 1080/50p.
In handheld camcorders, Crambo also shows the new AJ-PX270 and the versatile AG-AC90 (with its high image quality with 3 1/4.7 inch CMOS sensors and advanced functions, combined with simple operation and an elegant and easy-to-handle design) and AG-AC160 (AVCCAM HD Full HD and variable frame rate, with SD/HD-SDI output, switchable 59.94Hz/50Hz). Also introduced is the AG-HPD24 P2HD recorder/player.
As far as multipurpose equipment is concerned, Crambo has the AW-HE60 integrated cameras (with a 1/3 Full-HD type MOS sensor and support for multiple HD/SD formats) and the AW-HE120 (an integrated HD camera and IP connectivity, making it easy to install). Next to them, the AW-RP50 control panel stands out.
On the part of Tangram, at BIT Broadcast we can see the AJ-HPX3100 and AG-HPX600 shoulder camcorders, in addition to the AJ-PX270 handheld camcorder.
The HPX3100's new camera body design features a lower center of gravity that increases stability and allows unobstructed viewing on both sides. It weighs only about 3.9 kg. There are two P2 card slots on the side where the main controls are located. With excellent mobility and simple operation, the camcorder incorporates a 3-CCD type 2/3 system with 2.2 megapixel resolution, a high-performance DSP and the AVC-Intra codec.
As far as the HPX600 is concerned, it should be noted that this camcorder has marked a before and after in the development of camcorders with Full HD quality and cost-effectiveness. Furthermore, it has been designed from the ground up to offer a platform where users can choose from several options to suit their needs. It also features a 2/3 type lens mount, allowing the use of conventional lenses for greater flexibility, and records Broadcast quality HD images with native 1920 x 1080 resolution with 4:2:2 sampling and 10-bit encoding. It features a high sensitivity of F12 (at 2,000 lux and 50Hz) and a low noise level.
As for KBN Media, it is announcing the advantages of the new Panasonic AJ-PX270 camcorder.
The new AJ-PX270 shines at the fair
If there is a camcorder that is being talked about at this fair, it is the new AJ-PX270. Winner of the Panorama Award for Best Capture Solution, this camera is especially intended for news capture, facilitating production work in television, short films, corporate videos... since it inherits all the advantages of a shoulder camcorder in a practical handheld device.
But the most notable aspect is the innovation in terms of recording formats and the flexibility in the way of working since it even allows you to send all the material directly over WiFi, 3G or 4G networks.
While the popular 200 (launched by Panasonic at the end of 2006) started from a hybrid concept with P2 and tape (miniDV), in the new 270 the tape has been replaced by the card and the possibility of sending media over the network.
This marks a new scheme in workflows since it will allow content to be sent from the same place as the recording, thus considerably reducing the time between capture and emission.
With this camera it is possible to send content both live via streaming or material stored on the card. While previously you had to wait for the material to arrive to edit, now it will be possible to send the content from the recording location, thus considerably reducing the time between capture and broadcast. The operator can thus send a proxy to the newsroom by simply connecting a LAN cable or accessing a WiFi or mobile network (thanks to a dongle housed and protected within the camera body itself).
Initially, the PX270 allows you to connect to a WiFi network using an optional USB dongle or to a wired LAN network, and also supports uploading devices over mobile networks. Adapters to use 3G/4G and LTE networks will be available soon.
The AJ-PX270 allows you to work from two schemes: capturing video and sending it later or in direct streaming.
When the subsequent sending of the material is considered, the camera allows content in proxy quality to be sent to the editorial office in just a few minutes. Even with last minute information, it would be possible to go on air immediately based on this proxy material.
On the other hand, the editor can create a condensed version with the most notable images and return an editing list to the camera to consolidate only that part, thus reducing the amount of material to be ingested, saving time and storage space.
In terms of streaming, the new AJ-PX270 will increase the number of live connections in programs and news, by not having to move a mobile unit. Likewise, in events, it will allow great mobility of the camera by not depending on a cable.
Its connectivity with low latency of just one second allows maintaining a live conversion between the presenter on set and the reporter on the street.
