The 5th edition of the 'SIA - Earpro Conference: Audiovisual Integration Systems', recently held in Barcelona, has brought together clients, partners and collaborators to show them their new lines of work in audio, lighting, broadcast and visual media.

For the fifth consecutive year, Earpro held its 'SIA Conference - Audiovisual Integration Systems', an edition that was full of novelties: on the one hand, many highly anticipated new products from the brands distributed by Earpro were presented and could be seen live, and on the other hand, the company's team held numerous presentations and seminars to show the latest in global applications and solutions to its clients. This transversal approach has been gaining prominence in the latest editions of the annual Earpro convention, with the idea of not only bringing to the market the most innovative products within the top-level brands it distributes, but also proposing solutions that allow us to face new challenges.

For this purpose, special emphasis was placed on showing the products in operation to be able to see their functionalities live, also explained by our experts. The most visited area, which was also new in this edition of SIA, was the one dedicated to the Broadcast Set, where attendees were able to see global applications in operation for both stages and sets. Another highlight was the large influx of professionals from the sector and the participation of a good number of brands, which held seminars to show, first-hand, their latest products and news: Harman, Shure, Panasonic, LG, Chief, Procolor, Riedel y Televic.

Latest audio news

In terms of product innovations, the brands of the Harman group represented the bulk of the main innovations in audio products: together with JBL PRO, Earpro presented the new PRX400 series of passive speakers, and the STX800 series of portable speakers. Another star product was the new JBL PRO Marquis series, specially designed for disco and club applications. In fact, those attending the convention were able to enjoy a live demonstration of this new series in a well-known venue in Barcelona.

This year, Earpro also brought important news for another of its main brands, Soundcraft: the new Si Performer. This console has been designed on the well-known Si Compact range, with which it shares a design, but providing almost double the DSP power and increased functionality, with a capacity of up to 80 inputs for combination in all models. In addition, the Si Performer also adds lighting control options thanks to the integrated DMX functionality. And finally, another of the most notable presentations was that of Harman's IDX platform, the revolutionary comprehensive notice management platform, which allows audio, video and data control at the same time.

Shure was another of the leading brands in this latest edition of the SIA conferences, this year with many new features for broadcast applications. Highlights included, for example, the MX150 and MX153 lapel microphone models, the new FP series of wireless systems, a portable, lightweight and affordable wireless solution; the new VP shotgun microphones (VP89 S/M/L and VP82) and also the BRH31M, BRH441M and BRH440M headsets. And finally, Earpro customers were able to discover and try first-hand Shure's new open-design headphones, the SRH1440 and SRH1840, which offer the best quality for mastering and critical listening.

In the visual media and digital signage products, there were also numerous new features: in the projector section, it is worth highlighting Panasonic's flagship model, the DZ-21K, the most powerful and compact projector on the market, but also the new PT-VW431D with 4,300 lm. and WXGA with integrated Category 5 receiver for video reception. Another very notable model was the PT-RZ470, the Japanese brand's LED laser projector, presented jointly by the Earpro team and the staff of Panasonic Spain. In the monitor part, Earpro presented the new 70” TH-70LC30 LCD monitor from Panasonic that offers a brightness of 700cd/m², a contrast of 5,000:1 and high durability, even in 24/7 operation.

Another highly anticipated moment during the SIA 2012 convention was the presentation of the Procolor brand (Milestone group) for projection screens, whose official distributor in Spain since last June is Earpro. In fact, all the screens used for projections both in the main room and in the workshop rooms were brand models such as the Fast Fold model for example. The Earpro team, accompanied by Chief's Arnaud Monge, introduced a new Chief mobile video wall mount, the LVM series (2×2) series.

Finally, Earpro presented to its distributors the Multi Connection Panasonic System videoconferencing system exclusively in Europe, and also had a UB-880 interactive whiteboard from the Japanese brand for corporate and educational applications. On the other hand, Earpro was able to present the first interactive whiteboard integrated into a plasma monitor, the Panasonic model 65PB1, as well as the new AV-HE60 multipurpose camera recently presented at the IBC fair.

Original stage for lighting and broadcast

In the lighting innovations section, Earpro decided to present its main innovations in an original and direct way through a montage in the conference room, and with the reconstruction of a broadcast set and a mini-stage in the exhibition area. In the plenary room, where the main presentations were given, products were chosen that were compatible with live recording (through a videoconferencing system) and that gave a warm and unique atmosphere. For this, ACME's LP324B cold light projectors were used to illuminate the lectern, Stage Wash equipment for ambient lighting, Coemar's Infinity Spots S to create textures, ACME's Digivideo digital moving heads to project the brand logos on the walls of the room, and ACME's Tripar and Coemar's Infinity Wash equipment for the decoration and lighting of the audience area.

The assembly of the mini-stage was intended to reconstruct a small concert stage, with all the most suitable lighting products for it, such as the Pageant moving heads (CM-120) with 12 Full Color chips, Saber XP5-R 189W Beam type moving heads and some ACME BW 14-10 equipment to offer the most spectacular lighting possible. All elements of the conference room and the broadcast set and the mini-stage were controlled by two Compulite Ultra-Violet tables.

And finally, on the outside of the hotel, the Earpro team installed some Wash projectors for architectural lighting (BW 27 FC and BW216RGBW from Coemar and BW14 10FC from ACME) to highlight the façade of the hotel where the event took place. These projectors were controlled by Compulite's Vector PC Wing, the most advanced portable console on the market.
