BBC Installs Front Porch Digital Systems systems to expand the ONE-STOP service
Divarchive and Divadirector provide long-term safe storage completing the end-to-end digitalization processes, transcoding, restoration and file.
The BBC BBC Studios and Post Production Middle Broadcaster Business Unit, in charge of conservation, remastering and content management, has opted for the divaarchive solutions and divadirector of Front Porch Digital.
These solutions will provide long -term safe storage for existing assets, films digitalization, digital image restoration, and digital production partnership (DPP), allowing complete end -to -end ecosystems in end digitalization, transcoding, restoration and file service.
Kevin Shaw, technological director at BBC Studios and Post Production, points out that “we are expanding our existing services to provide reliable and safe backup copies outside the site. This provides our clients with a simple option for disaster recovery, the protection of their valuable assets and eliminates the need to invest in their own files. In the case of large customers who seek to create their own files Consulting, and the incorporation of Front Porch Digital products expands the scope of advice and assistance we can offer them ”.
The Divarchive and Divadirector systems are capable of totally or partially storing the restoration, the DPP asset and verifying the integrity of any asset through a calculation of verification and monitoring. The systems also accelerate the workflow when the content is ingested for long -term file, which eliminates the need to transfer or deliver large amounts of data to customers. BBC's digital media services can now also offer migration to new formats as part of its services in order to guarantee future -proof assets.
Divadirector will allow creating a database and metadata as a future resource, while Divarchive will provide a profitable provisional storage solution in the very short term. The investment fits with the company's business model, providing the flexibility to climb very quickly, from lowering projects that involve some films or tape assets for the digitalization of the hundreds of thousands of tapes or the complete restoration of hundreds of hours of film.
BBC Studios and Post Production’s Digital Media in addition to attending to the British Public Corporation also provides services to institutions and museums such as the Imperial War.
