The streaming service for computers, Smart TV, tablets and game consoles with more than one million users, Wuaki.tv, has noted the increase in the consumption of on-demand content through mobile devices during these first summer months.

The viewing of streaming content on mobile devices and tablets represented more than 25% of all the views that the platform has had during the first months of the second quarter. During the summer months, the growth in consumption of series and movies on these devices has doubled compared to the annual average, since they become the best companion for users during vacations.

Jordi Miró, CTO of Wuaki.tv, highlights that "in recent years, consumption habits and audiences have changed significantly, this is undoubtedly a reality. Consumption from mobile devices works very well all year round, but in these months they have experienced notable growth, reinforcing the theory that mobile content is the future of video and online leisure consumption."

Another relevant data is the consumption of series, which has increased by 15% on average during the summer period. According to the data analyzed, users usually spend an average of 42 minutes consuming streaming content on mobile devices or connected televisions, and an average of about 35 minutes on a computer.

This phenomenon is explained, on the one hand, because the majority of self-produced series on television disappear in the summer and this coincides with the appearance of younger audiences favorable to the consumption of this type of content. On the other hand, the consumption of mobile content at a global level is also representative. Recent studies indicate that 68% of the content consumed in our country on mobile devices is done through smartphones and 32% on tablets.
