Sennheiser presents its “HD Audio” and “Immersive Audio” solutions

At IBC 2014, the digital 9000 wireless microphone system, the Esfera 5.1 surround microphone system and the Dante network card for the Digital 9000 system had special prominence.

With an eye on the emerging Ultra High Definition production market, Sennheiser has presented its “HD Audio” and “Immersive Audio” solutions at IBC. In Amsterdam, the digital 9000 wireless microphone system, the Esfera 5.1 surround microphone system and the Dante network card for the Digital 9000 system had special prominence.

Sven Boetcher, Marketing Director of Pro Audio at Sennheiser, highlighted that "studies on viewer perception have shown that a very high image quality is only truly perceived as such when the audio quality is also up to par. Here the microphone, as the first link in the production chain, takes on special importance." Starting from this principle, Sennheiser has developed the 9000 digital system.

This solution allows you to transmit high-definition sound without compression or data reduction and is capable of taking on everything that the most demanding professionals can throw at it.

On the other hand, at IBC, Sennheiser has presented a Dante™ expansion card for this system, which guarantees good wireless transmission quality over IP networks.

Sennheiser has also been the best showcase for its MKH 8000 series analogue/digital shotgun microphones which ensure that sound on set is recorded with precision and incredibly realistic quality.

The Esfera surround microphone system represents fast, hassle-free operation with the greatest possible freedom in organizing your workflow. Just two channels are enough to achieve full 5.1 sound – conversion can take place at any point in the production workflow, whether live or in post-production.

Headphones, “Audio for Video” solutions to adapt to the requirements of semi-professionals and professionals and the entire catalog of wireless microphone systems were also presented at this IBC.
