Spanish Television sells the legendary Buñuel Studios
The promoter Pryconsa takes over the Madrid studios for 35.27 million euros.
The real estate plan presented to the RTVE Board of Directors in December 2012 provided for the sale of a series of “idle” assets of the Corporation, as well as the Buñuel studios.
After the approval of said plan, a tender was held to award the commercial agent in charge of managing the sale of these properties, which was finally the company KPMG.
During 2013, and much of 2014, there have been contacts by KPMG with various actors in the real estate market to stimulate interest in the set of assets.
After the Board of Directors meeting in September 2014, in which the revised real estate plan was presented, the offer for sale of the studios was activated again, with up to eight offers received in sealed envelopes before a notary from as many interested parties.
Ahora, RTVE tras el análisis de las ofertas ha entendido que la más ventajosa la realizada por la promotora Pryconsa, por un importe de 35,27 millones de euros. Esta oferta conlleva el pago al contado de la cantidad estipulada y la posibilidad de ocupar el inmueble hasta un año sin coste para RTVE.
Unas instalaciones míticas
Los antiguos Chamartín, en la década de los años treinta, pasaron a convertirse en los sesenta denominarse estudios Bronston donde se rodaron producciones como La caída del Imperio Romano, 55 días en Pekín o El fabuloso mundo del circo. En 1988, con Pilar Miró en la dirección, RTVE recupera estas instalaciones bajo la denominación de Estudios Buñuel.
The complex consists of three studios: two of 600 square meters and another with 2,500 square meters, one of the largest in Europe. In this studio, programs such as One, two, three... answer again, TVE's great circus, What are we betting on?, The summer Grand Prix, I have a question for you, o 59 Seconds, among others.
Currently the spaces are produced in these facilities Neighborhood Cinema, Spanish Version, The debate on La 1, MasterChef 2 o Millennium.
