From February 1 to 22, the Sala Berlanga (Andrés Mellado, 53 Madrid) will host a series dedicated to the finalist films in the 29th edition of the awards granted by the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Spain.

Among others, they will be projected The boy, by Daniel Monzón; The minimal island, by Alberto Rodríguez; Magical Girl, by Carlos Vermut; 10.000 km, by Carlos Marques-Marcet; Marseille, by Belén Macías; The flowers, by José Mari Goenaga and Joan Garaño; Paco de Lucía. The Search, by Francisco Sánchez Varela; Spain Building, by Victor Moreno; Born in Gaza, by Hernán Rodrigo Zin; Bette Davies's final goodbye, by Pedro González and The salt of the earth, by J. Ribeiro Salgado and Wim Wenders.

February 22, the last day of the cycle, will be dedicated to the figure of Antonio Banderas, Honorary Goya 2015, with the films Alabama Crazy, a film he directed in 1999, If they tell you that I fell, by Vicente Aranda and The skin I live in, by Pedro Almodóvar, which he starred in 1989 and 2011, respectively.

Coinciding with the competition and celebration of the Goya Awards given by the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Spain, the Sala Berlanga hosts a good part of this season's films that have enjoyed better acceptance among critics and the public.

In the annual production there continue to be good examples of the best action cinema and popular genres, with technical and artistic impeccable workmanship, as is the case of Daniel Monzón's thriller The boy or the police and political drama The minimal island, by Alberto Rodríguez. Together with them, we program several dramas that reflect the intellectual and ideological concerns of the new generations of viewers and filmmakers, feature films that verify the current importance of unprejudiced and groundbreaking languages ( Magical Girl, by Carlos Vermut), or indicate the impact of new technologies on human relationships (10.000 km., by Carlos Marques-Marcet), the concern for new family units (Marseilles, by Belén Macías), or they formulate the romantic comedy or the nostalgic drama from bold postulates (The flowers, by José Mari Goenaga and Jon Garaño).

In the case of the documentary, the winds of change are even more clearly felt. Along with films that investigate such culturally essential figures as Paco de Lucía. The Search, by Francisco Sánchez Varela, we find the creative documentary Spain Building, by Víctor Moreno, the social cinema of 2014. Born in Gaza, by Hernán Rodrigo Zin or the cinephilia of Bette Davies's final goodbye, by Pedro González and The salt of the earth, by J. Ribeiro Salgado and Wim Wenders.
