The Gas Natural Fenosa Itinerant Cinema Series returns with the Goya 2015
Ten Spanish towns host the initiative, promoted by Gas Natural Fenosa and the Film Academy, with films with Goya Award nominations.
The best Spanish cinema will meet at the 29th edition of the Goya Awards. But before the big event, Gas Natural Fenosa and the Film Academy will bring it closer to viewers thanks to a jointly promoted project, the Gas Natural Fenosa Itinerant Cinema Series, which celebrates its fourth national edition from January 30 to March 7.
The initiative has already brought nearly 20,000 people to numerous theaters, auditoriums, cinemas, beaches and squares in Spain. As in every call, we are committed to showing Spanish productions, on the big screen and for free, in ten locations that do not have theaters in their urban centers. This year, the cycle will pass, among other cities, through Lorca, Toledo, Torremolinos (Málaga), Denia (Alicante), Granadilla de Abona (Tenerife), Santurce (Vizcaya), Teruel and Torrelavega (Cantabria).
The national thriller will not only be present in these Goya. The minimal island y The Child will also participate in the Gas Natural Fenosa Traveling Film Series, as well as the animated film Mortadelo and Filemón against Jimmy the Horny; the first film by Esteban Roel and Juanfer de Andrés, Shrews; Magical Girl, winner at the San Sebastián Festival; and the title that has broken box office records: Eight Basque surnames.
With the great festival of Spanish cinema as a backdrop, and the objective of promoting our productions, the cycle also once again has the support of actors and actresses who will present the films before their screenings. The interpreters Javier Gutiérrez and Macarena Gómez repeat. According to the co-star of The minimal island, "I am excited that our cinema reaches all places. Especially to the most lost corners," and adds that, "as if it were theater, I enjoy witnessing the public's reaction to our work." For her part, the actress from Córdoba gives as an example the case of her mother, to whom she recommends many films that she ultimately cannot see because they are not shown in her city. For this same reason, Gómez does not want any person in Toledo to go without seeing Shrews. "I want to offer people what I would like them to offer me. Maybe it's a question of generosity," he says.
The Gas Natural Fenosa Itinerant Cinema Series Goya Awards 2015 begins in Lorca with The Child, which will be introduced by Jesús Carroza and Said Chatiby, who play El Compi and Halil, respectively, in Daniel Monzón's film. Also collaborating with the cycle are Bárbara Lennie, Javier Fesser, Esteban Roel, Juanfer Andrés, Mariam Bachir, Mercedes León, Alfonso Sánchez, Alberto López and Nerea Barros.
