El gigante de streaming de video desembarca en Asia y lo hace por la puerta grande anunciando su irrupción en el mercado nipón a finales de este año.
El próximo otoño, Japón se convertirá en el primer país de Asia que disfrutará de series y películas en streaming.
Con esta operación, Netflix pretende conectar con un mercado en el que 36 millones de hogares cuentan con banda ancha. La compañía abrirá en próximas fechas oficinas en Tokio, con Gregory Peters, hasta ahora jefe de asociaciones en la compañía, al frente.
En septiembre la empresa hizo un desembarco a gran escala en Europa, en donde 63 millones de hogares de seis países ya disfrutan del servicio, entre los que se encuentran Bélgica, Luxemburgo, Francia, Alemania, Austria y Suiza. Países como España siguen esperando la llegada de la plataforma.
El próximo mes de marzo, Netflix pretende lanzar su servicio en Australia y Nueva Zelanda.
